Since the summer of 2000, Sunshine has been clowning in the Hudson Valley. Beginning at the Pine Grove Dude Ranch and Resort in Kerhonkson, Sunshine began facepainting children big and small for the past 7 years. Sunshine has also been invited to facepaint at special events in the area such as the Family Farm Festival and the Hudson Valley Parents' Summer Celebration. Sunshine has been clowning at children's birthday parties for family and friends and is now availble to entertain at your child's birthday or special celebrations.
Behind Sunshine the Clown is a dynamic young artist and activist, Julia Walsh. Julia is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz, a former elected local Village Board member in New Paltz, a representative for a children's rights NGO at the United Nations and the founder of a local youth leadership organization, Synthesis. Julia has worked with at-risk-youth in the Hudson Valley for years as an advocate at the Youth Advocacy Program in Kingston and Mill Street Loft PASWORD & Project AWARE girls empowerment programs in Poughkeepsie and Beacon. Currently she is writing her first book on youth in politics and continues to clown every evening on the weekends at the Pine Grove Dude Ranch.
